SHARING IS CARING

The joy of the Big Green Egg lies partly in the cooking, but mainly in the sharing. In partnership with our friends at Provenance Village Butcher in London, we’ve put together the perfect Meat Box for a big gathering of family or friends. Simple to cook, fun to share, and appealing to a wide range of people, this is classic barbecue fare – but with scope for creativity.

For inspiration, we turned to Ben Lippett, a chef and content creator with a rare gift for making elevated home cooking seem eminently achievable. Ben has created three beautiful, flavour-packed recipes that turn the box’s T-bone steak, lamb rack and boneless chicken into showstopping centrepieces, using uncomplicated techniques.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The meat is sourced from small-scale, low-intervention farms in England with a commitment to animal welfare, traditional breeds and sustainable farming methods. The integrity of the producers shines through in the quality of the meat.

  • 1 x 600g T-bone steak
  • 2 x 230g ribeye steaks
  • 1 x 1.4kg boneless chicken

  • 150g Anchovy butter

ABOUT BEN LIPPETT

Ben started out as a chef in professional kitchens in Brighton, London and Melbourne, wrote for various food magazines and websites, then turned his cooking skills and engaging personality into social media gold. His @dinnerbyben Instagram account has over a million followers, and his How I Cook newsletter provides inspiration and instruction for thousands of home cooks. Ben’s debut book, also entitled How I Cook, was published last year.

ABOUT PROVENANCE VILLAGE BUTCHER

Provenance Village Butcher was launched in 2013 by Erin Hurst, Guy Gibson, Struan Robertson and Tom Gibson. The team began with a single shop in Notting Hill and a clear sense of mission: to support British farmers whose approach is respectful of animals, in tune with nature and favours quality over volume. Over the years, they have fostered close, long-lasting relationships with a small network of specialist suppliers. They now have five shops in London, staffed by expert butchers.
