Big Green Egg Champion: Ross Geach
Main content
The farmer, chef and cookery teacher
Ross Geach is a Cornish farmer, chef and official Big Green Egg Champion. For seven generations, the Geach family has run Trerethern Farm in Cornwall, where they rear pedigree free-range animals including Charolais cattle and Large Black pigs. Located within the farm, Padstow Kitchen Garden is a beautiful seven-acre garden in which Ross grows his award-winning vegetables and salads as well as hosting alfresco feasts and Big Green Egg cookery courses.
Ross, who spent over a decade working alongside Rick Stein, calls the Big Green Egg “the best and most versatile outdoor oven in the world”. He has championed the EGG for many years, helping other chefs master its cooking modes and developing fantastic, flavour-packed recipes for our website.

From Padstow to Atlanta
At Padstow Kitchen Garden, Ross hosts regular day-long Big Green Egg cooking workshops using meat and vegetables from his family farm and local seafood from the Padstow day boats. One-to-one lessons can also be arranged by appointment.
In 2024, he flew to the annual EGGtoberfest in Atlanta, Georgia to act as the official UK chef at this global gathering of EGG enthusiasts. Still reeling from his adventures, he talked to us about surprising the Americans, meeting our legendary founder and observing the creation of the world’s biggest serving of chicken wings.
